Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy
We are currently offering in person and telehealth Physical Therapy.
Here is a list of some common women's health issues we treat for Physical Therapy:
-Prenatal and Postnatal
-Diastasis Recti
-Urinary Incontinence:
- Stress incontinence- leaking urine with sneezing, laughing, coughing, jumping or exercise.
- Urge incontinence- leaking urine when you have strong, sudden need to urinate (for example, being unable to "hold it" when you really have to go to the bathroom, when you hear running water, a key in the door, etc)
-Pelvic organ prolapse
-Pelvic pain, including pain with intercourse or gynecological exams
What should I expect for my first visit of pelvic floor Physical Therapy?
A Pelvic floor Physical Therapy initial evaluation is similar to an orthopedic evaluation. It includes discussing your issue and then assessing trunk and lower extremity range of motion, flexibility, strength, and more. Depending on the particular condition, an internal assessment of the pelvic floor musculature may be performed if you feel comfortable. This muscle exam gives us important information about the strength, coordination, and tightness of your pelvic floor muscles. We then are able to design appropriate treatments and exercises that are a part of Physical Therapy and your home exercise program.

A Mommy Tune Up is recommended at 6 weeks postpartum or later (could be even years later). This is a great starting place to reconnect with your core.
